We’ve been busy hiring many new team members in 2020, and the newest member of our sales team is Jason Guevin. Based in New Hampshire, Jason is a Charlotte Products Account Manager representing our company and brands throughout the Northeast. Jason comes to us with a strong background in customer service and account management. I recently caught up with Jason over the phone to see how his virtual on-boarding has been going and get to know him better.
JM: How has all of the virtual training and remote meetings been going for you?
JG: I have been getting up to speed and doing a lot of education on Charlotte Products solutions, learning about everything we have to offer, which means that I’ve been participating in a lot of virtual learning. It’s amazing for me to be learning so much. In previous positions, I didn’t always have the resources to be so fully educated on the products I was selling and this has been really gratifying.
JM: You’ve been conducting your sales meetings virtually too. How have you been adjusting to that?
JG: As I set up conference calls and Zoom meetings for meet and greets with my new customers, the dynamics are very different than they have been in the past. There is a different strategy to selling over the phone. You lose so much when you can’t be face to face so I have to make the most of the time we do have together on the phone. But this is the way we are all conducting business in 2020.
JM: We are so glad you’ve joined our team. What was the reason you decided to come to Charlotte?
JG: One reason I chose this avenue and especially this company was the fact that at Charlotte Products, the job is all about helping to make cleaner, safer spaces for everybody. In my previous roles I had been selling cleaning products but there is a difference between those companies and Charlotte. At Charlotte, I am being given the knowledge to understand what goes into the solutions and products we sell and I’m very confident that these products are safe for public health and the environment. I am really proud to be working with a company that has such a commitment to customer service and genuinely wants to give its expertise and knowledge to the end users.
JM: We are all looking forward to a time in the future when we can have you up to the office here and meet you. Until then, what can you tell us about your interests so we can get to know you better?
JG: I live here in New Hampshire with my wife Gretchen and two children, Ethan will be 15 soon and Lauryn is 12. We love the sport of hockey, and during normal times that consumes most of our free time. Both of my kids play hockey and lacrosse, and as a sports family we are on the run all the time. This is a little different during COVID, because we are less busy with sports. One thing we are able to do right now is make maple syrup. We make our own maple syrup from the maple trees around our property every winter, and will begin tapping the trees in January. We love to get outside any time of year, hiking, mountain biking and tent camping when we can.
